Rep. Haas Promotes Summer Internship Program (Kankakee, IL) — This summer, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is joining House Republicans in offering a paid Summer Internship Program for students to work in the 79th District. This internship will provide an incredible opportunity for students to learn more about state government and how legislative district offices operate.

“Many state workers and people who serve in government began their careers as legislative interns,” said Rep. Haas. “I’m happy to provide this opportunity for students to work in the 79th District, learning more about how we serve constituents and make it easier for them to access their state government. I encourage college students to submit an application for a phenomenal opportunity to learn more about the Illinois House!”

The internship program begins on June 1st and will end on August 1st, 2023. College students are encouraged to apply by submitting their resume in an email to haas@ilhousegop.org. Interns will be compensated at the rate of $15 per hour and educational programming will be available on a weekly basis for interns. Applications will be accepted until Thursday, April 27th. Selected interns will work in Rep. Haas’ Kankakee district office at 370 E. Court Street.

Individuals with questions can call Rep. Haas’ office at (815) 523-7779 for additional information.
