Shooting at Olympia Fields Walmart (Olympia Fields, IL) — A female victim was shot inside the Olympia Fields, Illinois Walmart Supercenter (21000 Western Ave, Olympia Fields, IL 60461) a little after 9:00 AM this morning. According to various reports, the victim was awake and was transported to a local hospital in good condition.
Multiple rumors have been spreading regarding this incident, the most prominent being that an employee caught a man shoplifting yesterday. According to the rumor, the man threatened the employee and returned today with a gun. The victim was allegedly shot at this time and suffered a graze would to the head. Police are expected to release more information at 1:30 regarding the incident. More information will be made available at that time. As of this writing, no suspects are known to have been taken into custody. The Walmart location has been closed for the day.
