Black Chamber Endorses Robert Fioretti in Republican Primary Election (Chicago IL) — The Southland Black Chamber of Commerce has officially released their endorsement of Robert Fioretti in the Republican Primary Election for Cook County State’s Attorney. This endorsement comes as sentiment in business owners in Cook County are at rock-bottom.

“As a a chamber of commerce representing hundreds of businesses of all sizes, we see a constant worry about crime,” said Southland Black Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dr. Cornel Darden Jr. “We are worried about rampant theft, violence, and the lack of accountability in the State’s Attorney office. People are leaving, businesses are leaving, and Cook County can’t take much more of it.”

Although uncontested in his race as the Republican nominee for State’s Attorney, the Southland Black Chamber feels it is important to recognize Mr. Fioretti because of his no-nonsense take on crime.

“The limits that the current administration puts on prosecutors is absolutely abysmal,” continued Darden. “By refusing to charge some of these criminals, we, the citizens, the business owners, are left holding the bag. Each theft or robbery could be the breaking point for many of our small business owners. We are already seeing big box retailers leaving due to their bottom lines suffering. Those limits are much lower for the small businesses here in Cook County. We need more prosecutions, more convictions, and more punishment. We feel that Mr. Fioretti is an excellent candidate because he understands the plight that we all face when it comes to crime. We have had enough, and recognizing that Mr. Fioretti is a viable, good candidate for State’s Attorney is important so we can move Cook County forward.”
