Ashley Ramos Releases Declaration of Candidacy for 2nd District US House Seat (Bradley, IL) — Republican Ashley Ramos officially announced her candidacy for 2nd District US House of Representatives. Her official announcement follows:
To the Constituents of Congressional District 2 of Illinois and the general public. This is my official statement that I intend to seek the Federal Congressional House Seat for District Two of Illinois in the 2024 election.
Illinois is in clear need of new leadership. While some would predict that this position is a sure win for the incumbent. I believe the 2nd District is worth the fight and am willing to dedicate all my efforts to giving the people of Illinois the option for new representation.
I would not take on such a formidable endeavor if I did not believe that I can win; or without a solid conviction that I will be a positive contribution to the U.S. Government and the people it serves.
I was born in the south suburbs and have lived in District Two of Illinois for most of my life. I have watched the slow painful decline of businesses and communities full of hard-working individuals. I have listened to the people who are frustrated, dissatisfied and ready for change. They feel alienated from the officials and processes that have affected the fate of our livelihoods and ability to thrive. The people of Illinois and across the nation are troubled by the dishonesty of public officials, absence of effective government initiative, and deeply concerned by the shortages of essential goods and runaway inflation.
There is a loss of faith in leadership, and in programs meant to pacify the public that have proven to be a waste of taxes dollars and leave the needs of people unmet.
I believe these problems can be solved with bold, competent, honest leadership. Responsibility, dedication, and loyalty to the people can be reestablished on a national level and create a movement that will take effect on a state and local level as well. I intend to set the example of that difference in Washington.
I am acutely aware of the great undertaking that acquiring this honored position holds. It is with a deep love of my country, the iron will and dedication of the American Spirit that I seek to represent District Two of Illinois in Congress.
