Tiffany Henyard Bounced Check to South Suburban College; Unpaid for 33 Months (South Holland, IL) (via ECWd) — Tiffany Henyard, Mayor of Dolton, Thornton Township Supervisor, and owner of “Good Burger,” has apparently been having trouble keeping her Good Burger company above water lately.

After nonpayment of commissions on food sales to South Suburban College for the contract she has serving food to college students, she wrote a check, which bounced, and was returned as NSF, or Non Sufficient Funds. Which means there was not enough money in the business account to cover the $1,057.16 commissions owed the college.

The check was dated November 15, 2019.

According to a June 9, 2022 follow-up invoice, Henyard had not yet made restitution to the college for the bounced check – despite raking in well over $200,000 per year as Thornton Township Supervisor plus her salary as Mayor of Dolton, Illinois.

This latest notice came after Henyard already receiving a notice on March 22, 2022, of her not reimbursing the college for the bounced check.

This is unacceptable and she should have been charged with deceptive practice for writing a check without sufficient funds to cover it (See Illinois Criminal Code, Section 720 ILCS 5/17-1(B)) – especially when she apparently made no attempt at making the college whole even 33 months after writing the bad check.

The check was finally paid on September 1, 2022, three months after a June meeting with the college over her outstanding balances, which included the bounced check.
