A total of $8,985,634 will be distributed across 39 municipalities and three townships to fund two transit, 16 pedestrian, 11 bicycle, one freight and 13 road projects.
Throughout the pandemic, Jamie Kucera and The Y have stepped in to provide necessary resources for the community with limited financial means. The organization has partnered with Alivio Medical Center to administer nearly 10,000 COVID-19 vaccines. The YMCA has provided over 15,000 emergency food boxes to seniors to allow them to stay safely in their home and have sustainable food.
“The American Rescue Plan Act has been instrumental in providing funds to cities and townships throughout the 16th District,” said Cook County Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar.
