Pink Hats Construction & Development Group, a completely minority, veteran, women-led enterprise, is announcing their 2023 Build Green Hempcrete Workshop in Chicago.
Pink Hats Construction & Development Group Inc., along with key partners and sponsors, will help you discover the innovative potential of hempcrete, a sustainable building material that’s revolutionizing the way we build. Hempcrete is a biocomposite material, composed primarily of hemp a mixture of the inner woody core of the hemp planthurds (shives) and lime. Hempcrete is easier to work with than traditional lime mixes and acts as an insulator and moisture regulator. It lacks the brittleness of concrete and consequently does not need expansion joints. The result is a lightweight insulating material, finishing plaster, or a non-load bearing wall, ideal for most climates as it combines insulation and thermal mass while providing a positive impact on the environment. Hempcrete is a new natural building material whose usage has been implemented in Europe. Now, the Chicagoland area can join in the revolution by attending an upcoming 4-day workshop.
