Democrats for Life Proud to Endorse Pastor Chris Butler for U.S. Congress in Illinois District 1 (Chicago, IL) — Democrats For Life announced its endorsement of Pastor Chris Butler of Illinois District 1 for U.S. Congress. The organization cited Butler’s fierce commitment to defending and protecting life at all stages and his strong advocacy for supporting pregnant women and children. His platform is devoted to focusing on families.

“Pastor Butler has shown through his service to his community that he is a consistent and reliable Pro-Life and Whole Life advocate,” said Kristen Day, Executive Director of DFLA. “He will fight for families and for the vulnerable from the womb to the tomb. As a Representative in the U.S. House, he will not only protect the preborn but also provide support to families by addressing income inequalities,” Day continued. “We are confident in Pastor Butler’s commitment to building social safety nets for families in his district and across America. We need his voice and his values in Congress.”

Born and raised in Chicago, Pastor Butler developed his Whole Life values from his community. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife and five children. As a leader in ministry and his community, he has expanded high-quality school options and educational programs for underserved communities. Pastor Butler has spearheaded various important campaigns, including Parent Power Chicago, the AND Campaign, and the Chicago Peace Campaign.

“There are too many people without access to basic healthcare, housing, education, childcare, and a fair income. Data shows us that economic hardship is a primary and prominent reason why women seek an abortion,” stated Day. “Our leaders must address these inequities by giving women and families the resources and support they need during and after pregnancy. Pastor Butler is a Whole Life leader who will bring equality and justice to the vulnerable in Chicago and America.”

Since announcing his candidacy, Pastor Butler has received endorsements from national and local Pro-Life organizations, 77 clergy members, former NFL player Ben Watson, former Congressman Dan Lipinski, and former Congressman David Bonier. Pastor Butler has recently received an endorsement from the Illinois State Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council PAC (IL FOP PAC), which works to support those who value public safety and law enforcement.
