Bulls Shut Down the Knicks at Home (Chicago, Illinois) – The Bulls were ready to put on a show tonight when the Knicks came to the United Center. The Bulls quickly set the pace high with Lonzo Ball taking a set back 3-pointer. Unfortunately, this would be 1 of only 2 shots made outside the arc, out of a total of 7 taken in the 1st quarter. However, the Bulls did make up the points in the paint and came out as leaders in the 1st quarter. The Bulls scored 25 points against the Knicks’ 20. In the 2nd quarter the Knicks picked up their game by making sure to secure free throws. The Knicks played tight ball and managed to make 11 free throws and stay competitive on the scoreboard. The Bulls were able to stay competitive by making 3 out of eight 3-point shot attempts as well as only missing 1 shot in the paint. The Bulls slightly extended the lead by scoring 26 points against the Knicks 25. By the end of the first half the Bulls had taken a lead over the Knicks 51-45.

At the Half

In the 3rd quarter the Bulls were surprised to see the Knicks still had some tricks for them. The Bulls had thought they may have tired out the Knicks, but the Knicks fought hard for their position in this game. The Bulls had struggled, only scoring 1 out of 6 shots outside the arc and only making 2 shots at the rim. The Bulls scored just 21 points in the 3rd quarter against the Knicks’ 29. The Knicks had taken their first lead over the Bulls by the last quarter, where the Bulls trailed the Knicks 74-72. In the final quarter the Bulls turned up the heat, making 5 out of 8 shots taken outside the arc along with great shots taken right inside it. DeMar DeRozan tried to make a move to the rim as the shot clock was winding down, and was quickly stopped halfway where he tossed it behind him to Zach LaVine who took the ball to the rim where he could secure the lay-up. The Bulls fought hard in the 4th quarter to prove their worth in this game, and they did exactly that with scoring 37 points against the Knicks’ 29. The Bulls beat the Knicks 109 – 103.

Game Leaders

Game Leaders were DeMar DeRozan with 31 points and 6 assists. On the defensive side, Javonte Green was able to snag 9 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan was an aggressive player tonight with getting 2 steals while Zach LaVine was able to get 1 block. The Bulls made 42.0% of their collective shots along with making 37.9% of every 3-point shot.
