Blue Island Park District Making the Holidays Bright With Activities for the Whole Family (Blue Island, IL) — It is Christmas time on the Island and to celebrate, the Blue Island Park District is sponsoring several events the whole family can enjoy.

On December 8th, the Park District is hosting a Gingerbread House decorating event at the Memorial Park Banquet Hall, located at 12804 Highland Ave. in Blue Island. Kits are available for $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

Families will have the opportunity to bring their kids to take a picture with Santa from 6-8 pm on Dec. 8,9,15,16 and 20th at Santa’s Workshop, located at the corner of York and Western Street. He will be there from 6-8 pm on December 8,9,15 and 20th. Santa will be there on Dec. 16th from noon-2 pm. And on Dec. 16th, come take a train ride with Santa at 11 am. Tickets are $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents.

The Senior Holiday luncheon will take place on Dec. 12th at 11:45 am at the Memorial Park Banquet Hall, located at 12804 Highland Ave. in Blue Island. Lunch is free for residents and $5 for non-residents.

The light contest judging will take place on Dec. 15th. Registration is free for the light contest. The first-place winner will receive a $50 gift card from Home Depot and the second-place winner will receive a $30 Home Depot card and the third-place winner will receive a $20 Home Depot card.

Finally, the Blue Island Park District will deliver stockings right to your door on December 23rd from 10 am to 1 pm. Cost is $30. Sign up for your stocking delivery today!
