Amazon Markham Site Open For Business 3000 Employees Begin First Day of Work (Markham, IL). After a year of preparation, Amazon IGQ1 Fulfillment Center in Markham will open its doors On October 31, 2021 for the first day of work for its 3,000 new employees. The hustle and bustle of work being done and wages being earned, will fill the air as these employees work in a brand new state of the art facility. The new staff will begin their first shifts at the facility and local leaders want to be on hand to wish them well.
At a 10am Press Conference at the Fulfillment Center to mark the event, Markham Mayor, Roger Agpawa along with Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle; 15th District State Senator, Napoleon B. Harris; 30th District State Representative, Will Davis; 38th District State Representative, Debbie Meyers-Martin and Amazon Site Manager, Tarun Aggarwal will be on hand to make remarks about this very special day.
“Employment opportunities by Amazon can be life changing for the thousands of employees who work here now. We want to celebrate this moment to acknowledge the commitment of Amazon to Markham and to send our workers off to a great first day of work,” said Mayor Roger Agpawa of the event.
