Village of Orland Park Hosts 20th Annual Taste of Orland Park (Orland Park, IL) — The Village of Orland Park’s annual Taste of Orland Park, sponsored by Northwestern Medicine, returns to the Orland Park Village Center August 4 through 6.

Celebrating its 20th year, the Taste of Orland Park showcases Orland Park eateries, community organizations and several bands throughout the weekend. Special events within the fest include live entertainment on two stages, a two-day Kids’ Zone, the annual Taste of Orland Park car show, themed trivia contests and a Battle of the Bands contest that features a performance by the winner on the main stage on Sunday, August 6 at 6 p.m. Live band karaoke (Saturday) and Improv (Sunday) are back again this year as well.

“The Taste of Orland Park is the regional event of the summer in Orland Park,” said Mayor Keith Pekau. “People look forward to the Taste of Orland Park every year,” he said. “It’s a great way to sample dishes from some the best restaurants in Orland Park, hear great music and participate in family-friendly activities.”

The Taste will be held at the Orland Park Village Center, 14700 South Ravinia Avenue, on Friday, August 4 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, August 5 from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 6 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission, parking and most activities at the fest are free of charge (bags tournament and car show vehicle entry require a fee). Participating restaurants will offer their signature dishes, beverages and desserts at individual food booths located throughout the complex.

Participating restaurants include Barraco’s, Buona Beef, Burger 21, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Gaston’s Bistro, Jamba Juice, Joey’s Red Hots, Mo’s Chinese Kitchen, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Orland Ale House, Papa Joe’s Italian Restaurant, The Original Rainbow Cone, Pueblito, Rock Bottom Brewery and Tradycja Polish Fusion Cuisine.

“While many of the participating restaurants are long-time, local favorites, some are relatively new to the event,” Pekau said. “It’s great to see the large variety of local offerings from local franchises as well as many independently-owned restaurants.”

The Kids’ Zone is a two-day event, from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6 on the Village Green. All activities are free of charge and fun for the whole family.

Nashville Electric Company and Fool House will perform on the main stage Friday night. Saturday’s entertainment will include the Music Company, LP Vinyl and headliner Elton Live on the main stage as well as the annual Veterans’ Tribute at 7 p.m. Come on out and support our local Veterans and the organizations that support them.

This year, the Veterans and Athletes United Fallen Heroes Memorial will be on display for the duration of the event. The display features a 28 foot by 6-foot American flag formed of over 7000 dog tags of fallen service members. Learn more at vetsau.com/memorial.

On Sunday, the entertainment continues with the FUZE band, Mellencougar and then the Battle of the Bands winning band takes the stage followed by American English to close out the event.
