Tinley Park Trustee Diane Galante Responds to The Southland Journal’s Request for Comment (Tinley Park, IL) — After a tense Tinley Park Village Board Meeting which included pleas for decency, numerous interruptions, and threats to hold a vote to expel Trustee Diane Galante from the room, Trustee Galante responded to The Southland Journal’s request for comment.
Trustee Galante’s statement refers to documents obtained by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) but does not necessarily reference the evidence she claims to hold that Mayor Glotz is feeding information to be published on social media.
She does, however, reference Mayor Glotz’s alleged attempt to recover his daughter’s stolen car with the aid of Tinley Park Police Officers in Calumet City.
Galante’s statement was sent from an iPhone and has been edited for clarity:
From the FOIAd documents shared with me, I believe there needs to be a full investigation into his actions.
As a Mom, I am glad his daughter was not harmed.
But as a Trustee, I believe he continues to abuse his powers as a Mayor and uses village resources to hide his actions.
There must be an investigation.
This time, his actions put Police Officers and community members at risk, having to be protected as he recklessly took the law into his own hands.  I’m sure it was upsetting when his daughter came out to see her car was taken.  But his actions were not justified.
I’m waiting for Village Management to respond to my questions to verify all the details.
As a board, we should have been made aware when this took place by the Village Manager.
Our PD does a significant campaign on lock it or lose it.  It’s unfortunate, but we are seeing the same issues as all the other communities.  We have to lock our cars until they get control of crime.
