The White Sox dominate the Orioles on defense and offense (Baltimore, Maryland) – After a day of traveling to Baltimore, the White Sox were ready to face the Orioles.  First to pitch for the White Sox was Dallas Keuchel.  The first run appeared in the bottom of the 2nd by Oriole’s batter, Ramon Urias, who hit a ball to deep left field for a solo home run that placed the Orioles with an early lead.  In the top of the 3rd, White Sox batter Brian Goodwin ripped a curveball to left field for an RBI double that quickly tied the game 1-1.  In the top of the 5th inning, White Sox batter Jose Abreu stepped up to the plate and hit a ball right past the Orioles diving shortstop for an RBI single.

White Sox Pull Away in the 6th

In the top of the 6th, White Sox batter Tim Anderson hit a 97mph sinker to deep right field for a two-run double that gave the White Sox a 3-run lead over the Orioles.  Right after Anderson’s hit, White Sox batters Yoan Moncada, Jose Abreu, and Brain Goodwin were all walked and gave the White Sox a run with bases loaded.  Up next to bat was White Sox batter, Adam Engel, who hit a sacrifice fly to get Moncada home from 3rd.  At the end of the 6th inning, the score was 6-1 White Sox.  In the top of the 7th, White Sox batter Gavin Sheets homered deep to right center field.  This homer was personal to Sheets because his father played for the Orioles, and the rookie also grew up just 20 minutes from the Oriole Park at Camden Yards.  Soon after, Abreu stepped up to the plate and rocked a ball to left field for a 2-run double that brought the score to 9-1 White Sox in the 7th inning.  In the bottom of the 8th, White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech relieved Keuchel after 96 elusive pitches.  In the top of the 9th inning, Engel hit a 3-run home run to solidify the White Sox dominance on the field today.  White Sox pitcher Matt Foster replaced Kopech to close out the game with a groundout and 2 flyouts.  The White Sox beat the Orioles 12-1.
