Prairie State College to Host New ‘OpportunityWorks’ Cohort (Chicago Heights, IL) — Prairie State College has partnered with Chicago Cook Workforce and the Office of the President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners to serve as a participating employer for the upcoming Opportunity Works cohort. Applications are open until February 1.

About Opportunity Works

Opportunity Works is a paid internship program designed for young adults in suburban Cook County who are currently unemployed and not enrolled in school. The program provides participants with 8-week paid internships to expose them to careers in high-growth, high-demand industries. These internships, which pay $15 per hour for 25 hours per week, are offered in various sectors, including but not limited to Transportation, Distribution and Logistics, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Healthcare. The internships include personalized career coaching and support from Prairie State College, as well as training stipends, transportation allowances, and professional attire.

To qualify for Opportunity Works, applicants must be between 16 and 24, unemployed, and reside in suburban Cook County. Eligible applicants can apply through the link provided below.
