Prairie State College Hosts New Art Exhibit Memory: A Juried Exhibition Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting Memory: A Juried Exhibition at the Christopher Art Gallery at 202 South Halsted St. in Chicago Heights on the main campus through January 25. PSC will also host an Artists’ Reception, free and open to the public, on Wednesday, January 17, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

The show will feature 22 works of art by various Illinois artists working in a wide range of media from photography, painting, and sculpture to mixed media. All the artists have created works that convey alternative interpretations of memory. The works are varied in their mood, concept, visual styles and intention.

“This exhibit has work from artists whose varied takes on the idea of memory elicit so many aspects: childhood memories, nostalgia, longing, mystery, and the joy of beauty. Visitors will enjoy the wide range of media, ideas, and cultural aspects of memory, that union of head and heart that we all share,” said Gallery Director Beth Shadur.

To schedule a guided tour of the exhibit and future exhibits at PSC, call Shadur at (708) 709-7738 or email bshadur@prairiestate.edu.

The gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. except for days the college is closed.
