“Portals” Exhibition by Tommy Zarlengo Coming to South Suburban College’s Photo Four Gallery (South Holland, IL) — The Art & Design Department at South Suburban College is pleased to announce a guest artist exhibition titled “Portals” by artist Tommy Zarlengo. This captivating collection of paintings will be showcased in the renowned Photo Four Gallery at the main campus in South Holland from October 13 to November 17, 2023. The public is cordially invited to join the artist for an engaging Artist Talk on November 1, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., offering a unique glimpse into the inspiration behind this extraordinary showcase.
Tommy Zarlengo states, “I extract magic from the mundane, transforming everyday experiences into art. My life’s journey has led me to open many doors, each revealing a different facet of my creativity. Throughout these diverse endeavors, a common thread has woven them together: a deep love for art, an insatiable drive to create, and unending curiosity.
“The series, “Portals,” holds a special place in my heart. These pieces have been my therapeutic companions, guiding me to focus on the present by immersing myself in painting and discovering the beauty within one of the simplest yet most powerful forms. Each canvas is a portal to a moment, feeling, or world I have experienced, captured, and brought to life through my art. I invite you to enjoy this visual exploration, to find your connections, and to embrace the beauty that exists in the ordinary and extraordinary alike”, remarked Zarlengo.
The SSC Photo Four Gallery, located on the fourth floor of South Suburban College, welcomes the public to attend “Portals.” The Photo Four Gallery’s operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing ample opportunities to experience this captivating exhibition. Please note that the gallery remains closed on weekends and holidays.
The college extends a gracious invitation to the general public to enjoy the art exhibitions and receptions at no cost.
