Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce Hosts State of the Village Address (Oak Lawn, IL) — The Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual “State of the Village” address on Tuesday, February 14th , at their Chamber Member luncheon held at the Hilton Oak Lawn ( 9333 S. Cicero Ave.). The Chamber welcomed special guest speaker, Village President, Terry Vorderer along with various Village department heads, who addressed timely and pertinent topics including Property Taxes, a Camera Share Program, Fire Department Recruitment, Pickle Ball Court construction, Library update and the retirement of long time District 229 Superintendent Dr. Michael Riordan.

Along with Village President Vorderer, speakers included Jerry Dillon, Assistant Village Manager, Pat Curran, Police Commander, Zachary Riddle, Fire Chief, Tom Hartwig, Park District Director, Carol Williams, Public Library Director and Dr. Riordan, District 229 Superintendent. Dr. Riordan spoke about his time as Superintendent and introduced his successor, Dr. Shahe Bagdasarian who will take over in July.

Over 80 business & community members attended this informative and interesting luncheon. The Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce introduced and welcomed six new members, honored several Chamber Past Presidents in attendance and pulled four Bonanza Raffle winners in the monthly drawing. Natasha Miller-Williams, Chamber 1st Vice President acted as Master of Ceremonies for the event. Six-dozen bundtinis were donated by Chamber President Jeff Reynolds, Nothing Bundt Cakes in Oak Lawn.

Founded in 1946, today the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce consists of almost 350 members. The Chamber of Commerce works to represent and advance the Oak Lawn business community, striving with constant integrity, fairness and cooperation to promote and improve the economic atmosphere, business climate and image of Oak Lawn.
