New Choice Intervention Inc. Celebrates a Decade of Dedication During Mental Health Month (Harvey, IL) — Since opening their doors ten years ago, New Choice Intervention has been a beacon of hope, providing essential behavioral and mental health services to over 10,000 individuals and families, both in-person and online. The agency mimics the founders’ passion to help empower the community. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, New Choice Intervention is excited to unveil expansion plans, reaching even more individuals in need through strategic partnerships, outreach efforts, and ongoing innovation.

To celebrate a decade of impactful service and dedication to mental health and substance use prevention, New Choice Intervention Inc. has organized a week-long series of events designed to honor outstanding community members and foster awareness and engagement.

Below is the schedule of events planned for May 27th through June 2nd:

Monday, May 27th – “MENTAL ILLNESS: Making of Therapeutic Narrative” Time: 11 AM – 1 PM

An enlightening workshop focusing on the transformative power of therapeutic storytelling in mental health. This event aims to deepen understanding and provide insights into the healing aspects of narrative therapy.

Tuesday, May 28th – Clients Visit Illinois General Assembly in Springfield/Community Picnic

A day of advocacy and outdoor fun, providing clients an opportunity to visit the Illinois General Assembly, followed by a community picnic. This outing is intended to raise awareness and encourage civic engagement among participants.

Wednesday, May 29th – “MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS PUBLIC MOVIE”

An outdoor public movie screening highlighting mental health themes. This event aims to educate and provoke thoughtful discussion on mental health issues within a communal setting.

Thursday, May 30th – Clients Concert & Special Award (Luncheon & Video Presentation)

A special concert featuring performances by clients, along with a luncheon and video presentation celebrating the journey and achievements of New Choice Intervention’s community. Special awards will be presented to recognize significant contributions.

Friday, May 31st – BOWLING at Dolton Bowling Center, Dolton, IL Time: 12 PM – 4 PM

A day of relaxation and fun, this bowling event is designed to foster community spirit and camaraderie among clients and staff.

Saturday, June 1st – GALA NIGHT/SERVICE AWARD

A prestigious Gala Night and Service Award ceremony honoring outstanding community members for their contributions to mental health awareness and support. This event promises to be a night of celebration, recognition, and gratitude.

Sunday, June 2nd – Thanksgiving Service

A service of thanksgiving to wrap up the week’s events, reflecting on the accomplishments and looking forward to continuing the mission of supporting mental health wellness in the community.
