Molson Coors Donates $1.5 Million to Increase Economic Opportunity and Pathways to Employment in Hometown Communities (Chicago, IL) — Molson Coors today announced a $100,000 donation to One Million Degrees to fund completion grants, providing aid to diverse and low-income students working toward college degrees. This contribution is part of Molson Coors’ larger $1.5 million donation made through its Celebrate Tomorrow initiative. The contribution will support 39 nonprofit organizations in the company’s brewery hometowns and corporate-office locations.

“This year’s donation will go towards a wide range of organizations, while also supporting students in our hometown of Chicago,” said Michael Nordman, senior manager of community affairs, Molson Coors. “We are proud to continue to invest in a diverse, equitable and inclusive future for all, creating opportunities for educational advancement and economic empowerment.”

Various measures will be implemented through the completion grants contribution including emergency grants, scholarships, mentorship programs, opportunities for hands-on learning, skill development and workforce application. In addition to Chicago, completion grants will be distributed to technical institutes and educational programming in Molson Coors’ hometowns in Milwaukee and Colorado via partnerships with Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Community College of Aurora Foundation, Denver Scholarshipn Foundation and Emily Griffith Foundation.

“We know that when given access to holistic wraparound supports like the ones that One Million Degrees offers, community college students will succeed in education, be well prepared for their careers and have a pathway to economic mobility,” said Aneesh Sohoni, CEO, One Million
Degrees. “We are grateful to Molson Coors for sharing our vision and continuing their support of this important work.”

In 2022, support through completion grants aided nearly 500 low-income and diverse students from funds allocated to 22 different institutions across Chicago, Denver and Milwaukee, enabling students to complete their certification or degree.

Since this program’s inception, more than $6 million has been donated to support nearly 60 organizations across the U.S. and Canada. Beyond Celebrate Tomorrow, Molson Coors’ social impact initiatives partner with organizations that aim to improve livelihoods, build resilient communities and empower the next generation of leaders.
