City of Harvey Police and Cook County Sheriff’s Police Conduct Successful Raid Uncover Potential Connection to Recent Deaths (Harvey, IL) On July 8, 2023, at approximately 6am, the Harvey Police Department investigations division, in conjunction with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police HBT team, executed a residential search warrant at 15222 Vine Ave, Harvey IL. This joint operation resulted in a significant seizure of illicit items and the apprehension of multiple suspects. Additionally, new information has emerged suggesting a potential connection to the recent deaths of Bertha Rollins and Paulette Diaz-Keinz.

Based on information obtained from witnesses and criminal informants, the property in question had been identified as a known drug house. Furthermore, it was discovered that both Rollins and Diaz-Keinz had frequented this location, which is located in close proximity to where their deceased bodies were found at 15227 Ashland Ave.

During the raid, law enforcement officers discovered the following items within the residence: six digital weighing scales, several hundred small plastic bags commonly used for narcotics packaging, two glass pipes, ten firearm bullets, and approximately 648 grams of an off-white powder substance suspected to be cocaine. The confiscated narcotics will undergo further analysis at the Illinois crime lab. Additionally, $232.00 in cash was recovered and will be securely held as evidence at the Harvey Police Department.

Four Black male suspects were apprehended and taken into custody as a result of this operation. Their arrest underscores the commitment of the City of Harvey to combat illicit activities within its jurisdiction and bring those responsible to justice.

In line with the city’s efforts to foster transparency and maintain a strong connection with the community, the City of Harvey initiated the practice of placing “Raided” signs outside properties that have been subject to successful raids. Mayor Christopher Clark emphasized the purpose behind this initiative, stating, “If we are able to have a successful raid, we want to let the people know we have been paying attention to their block.”

The City of Harvey Police Department, in collaboration with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police, continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of its residents. The potential connection between the raided property and the recent deaths of Rollins and Diaz-Keinz highlights the importance of these joint efforts in uncovering and addressing criminal activities.
