Bears collapse in 4th (Chicago, Illinois). After an embarrassing loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday night, the Chicago Bears were on pace to get their first victory since mid October, but somehow managed to squander a ten point lead late in the fourth quarter to the Detroit Lions in route to their sixth straight loss.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy made headlines for calling out his players after the loss to Green Bay. This seemed to get his teams attention as Chicago led almost the entire game. Late in the fourth quarter, Bears quarterback Mitch Trubiski was strip-sacked by Lions Romeo Okwara, which led to running back Adrian Peterson scoring on a five yard run with under two minutes left in the game. The future hall of famer finished the game with 57 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Lions quarterback Matt Stafford threw for 402 yards and three touchdowns while Trubiski threw for 267 yards and a touchdown. David Montgomery led Chicago with 72 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Lions get their first win under interim coach Darrell Bevell, and are now tied with the Bears for last place in the division (5-7). Chicago has their worst losing streak in eighteen years, and there will certainly be speculation about the security of Nagy’s job. Chicago will host Houston next Sunday, and Green Bay will travel to Detroit.
