Harvey Girl with a Medical Condition, Celebrates 8th Birthday with a Make-A-Wish® Disney Trip (Harvey, IL) — Ja’Shauntie, a brave little girl from Harvey, IL, who turned 8 years old today, will embark on a magical trip to Disney World with her adopted family the Washingtons, thanks to Make-A-Wish®. Ja’Shauntie, who is wheelchair bound due to her medical condition, is excited to meet her favorite Disney princess, Tiana, and experience the magic of Disney.

Ja’Shauntie’s journey has not been easy. When her birth parents realized the challenges of raising a child with special medical needs, they made the selfless decision to put her up for adoption. The Washington family opened their hearts and home to Ja’Shauntie, providing her with love, care, and a bright future.

To celebrate Ja’Shauntie’s upcoming Disney trip and her birthday, Make-A-Wish® and the community of Harvey are coming together to throw her a send-off birthday party on Friday, April 7th at 5:00 PM. The party will feature music, food and soda generously donated by Aurelio’s Pizza, and a special Disney Princess Tiana doll gift from the Harvey Police and Fire departments.

The event is expected to be attended by Ja’Shauntie and her family, Make-A-Wish® volunteers, representatives from the Harvey police and fire departments, as well as other city officials and Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller.
