Village of Orland Park Announces 2023 Summer Event Lineup (Orland Park, IL) — The Village of Orland Park proudly announces its 2023 Summer Event lineup. This year’s events include the new Orland Park Chamber of Commerce hosted SummerFest, concert opportunities, veterans’ programs and community favorites, Taste of Orland Park and the Independence Day Celebration.

“We are thrilled to bring a diverse range of events and celebrations to Orland Park this summer,” said Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau. “There are events for everyone, from outdoor movies to Markets in the Park to large-scale concerts at Centennial Park West.”

The Village has a full schedule of events planned beginning with the Memorial Day Ceremony on May 29 at 11 a.m. at the Ara Pace: Place of Peace Memorial at Village Center.

Market at the Park returns on June 8 and runs through August 17 at Crescent Park. In addition to welcoming over 30 local vendors, the weekly event will offer free, live music including a variety of bands and sounds ranging from country to classic rock to throwbacks from the 40s.

The Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce will host SummerFest, an event combining a carnival, live music, car show, an outdoor market and community expo, at 142nd and LaGrange Rd. in Orland Park from Thursday, June 15 through Sunday, June 18.

Two free Concerts in the Park will be offered this summer at Crescent Park (9705 142nd Street, Orland Park). First, we welcome a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band, The Fortunate Sons, on June 25 at 6:00 p.m. Then, on July 23 at 6:00 p.m., we will enjoy the music from Orland Parks very own 4CAST!

The Village’s annual Independence Day celebration kicks-off with the annual Veterans Liberty Run & Walk on Monday, July 3, at the Metra station on 153rd street, from 7-8 p.m. Celebrate the 4th of July with a concert featuring The Davenport Project and a musical fireworks display at Centennial Park.

The 20th Annual Taste of Orland Park will be held the weekend of August 4 through 6 at Village Center.

“The Taste of Orland Park has been a staple of Orland Park summers for 20 years,” said Pekau. “I look forward to attending the Taste as well as all of the other amazing Village of Orland Park events with my family and as a part of our great community.”

The 2023 Centennial Park West Concert Series has a great lineup planned for the summer season.

“We are excited to bring back these fan-favorite events for residents and guests this summer and are thrilled to make them free to attend,” said Pekau. “This three concert series will provide a great opportunity to get out and enjoy time with friends, family and the community.”

The series will kick off on June 10 and will feature Southern Accents, a Tom Petty tribute band, followed by a Beach Boys tribute band Sounds of Summer and headliner Margarita World, a Jimmy Buffett/Alan Jackson tribute band, to close things out.

The second concert on July 15 will feature Dancing Queen, an ABBA tribute band, followed by high energy band Too Much Molly and headliner ZBTB, a Zach Brown Band tribute band, to round out the night.

The third concert on August 19 will feature The Ron Burgundys, a yacht rock group, followed by a Stone Temple Pilots tribute band Big Bang and headliner Iris, a Goo Goo Dolls tribute band, to close out the show.

Gates will open at 3:30 pm for all concerts and the opening musical acts will take the stage at 4 p.m. Concertgoers are welcome to bring outside food and beverages, as well as lawn chairs and other outdoor items. Local food vendors will be onsite with items available for purchase. The Village will offer alcoholic beverages for purchase for those over 21 years of age.  Drink tickets will be available onsite, are nonrefundable and valid only at the concert at which they are purchased.

“I can’t wait to see the community out enjoying all Orland Park has to offer,” said Pekau. “See you this summer.”
