Village of Dixmoor announces Shop with a Cop dates (Dixmoor, IL) – Dixmoor Village President Fitzgerald Roberts along with Clerk Juanita Darden and Police Chief Lionel Smith are teaming up to bring the Shop with a Cop program to Dixmoor.

Shop with a Cop is a nationally recognized initiative to help foster good relationships between police officers and children in the community. The program aims to help kids in need by providing underprivileged kids with vouchers that they can use to make purchases at a store with a police chaperone.

“This is a great opportunity to bring kids and cops together in a positive way,” Smith said. “We will be shopping with four kids from our local elementary schools. This is an event our officers look forward to every year.”

The Village Shop with a Cop will be on Dec. 21st at 9 am at the Country Club Hills Wal Mart. Anyone who would like to donate to this great cause can call 708-396-1400 or email Chief Lionel Smith at: lpsmith783@gmail.com.

“We would like to help more kids, and so if you have the means and would like to help a great cause, please consider contributing to the Village’ Shop with a Cop program,” Roberts said. “Help us help kids in need this Holiday Season.”
