Randle Scores 27, Leads Knicks Pass Bulls (Chicago, IL) – Julius Randle scored twenty-seven points and the New York Knicks beat the Chicago Bulls 107-103 Wednesday night.  The Knicks avoid consecutive losses in Chicago as they lost 110-102 to the Bulls on Monday. Eldrid Payton scored 20 points for the Knicks and RJ Barrett added 17 as New York got a much-needed win.

Chicago fell behind early in this one and were down double figures much of the game. Down 17 after the first quarter, and 11 at the half. The Bulls had problems on both ends of the floor, giving up second chance points and struggling mightily from beyond the arc.

Second Half

The Knicks outscored the Bulls by four in the third quarter, but Chicago competed most of the period. Bulls’ Lauri Markkanen went straight down the middle of the floor and slammed home a basket to cut the lead to 12 with 5 seconds left in the third. However, on the ensuing possession, Knicks’ Julius Randle dribbled right up the court and knocked down an uncontested three pointer. He pushed the lead to fifteen.

Bulls Make Run In 4th

Chicago went on a run in the fourth quarter outscoring New York 27-16 in the final period. Down by seven with under seven to play, Chicago turned it over. This led to a mid range jumper by Randle plus a foul. Randle would miss the free-throw and Chicago went on and made 2 unanswered baskets to cut the lead to 5. Zach LaVine’s dunk with just over a minute to play seemed to give the Bulls some momentum. However, the offensive rebounds and second chance points were too much for the Chicago to overcome.
