OpEd: The Chump is Back! Richard Irvin’s Lousy Attempt to Redeem Himself (Chicago, IL) — Mayor Richard Irvin of Aurora participated in the largest political debacle in Illinois history during the 2022 Republican Gubernatorial Primary. He allowed himself to be a puppet and disrespected Republican voters across this state. He allowed his name to be used to attack our nominee Darren Bailey and caused confusion in this party by trying to paint Darren Bailey as a liberal! A Democrat ballot voting buffoon tried to make voters believe that Bailey isn’t a conservative.
Richard Irvin thought he was too good for the Black Republicans. Democrats don’t like him. He didn’t win because he disrespected Black Republicans. Bailey respects Black Republicans and this is why Darren Bailey is going to win in November and become the next Governor of Illinois. Darren Bailey believes in true prison reform as Darren Bailey is talking about firing the head of the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Darren Bailey Meets with Black Republicans and Black Chicago
Bailey shows up to Black Republican events. Richard Irvin refused to show up to Illinois Black Republican events. Darren Bailey wants to be the Governor of all people in Illinois, including the Black people and Black Republicans. We have more Black Republicans on the ballot in the 2022 midterms in Illinois than ever in history, and Richard Irvin has spat in all of our faces refusing to meet us.
Now he’s trying to redeem himself as he’s in big trouble. He was a part of a team that messed up $50 million and let Ken Griffin get away and leave our great state. All because Richard Irvin was a historical failure. If Richard Irvin would have talked to Black Republicans, he would have won. Bailey is with us and he’s winning. Darren Bailey is going to win big in the black community in Cook County and Chicago, and will win Illinois!
Richard Irvin is now trying to clean himself up with fake and meaningless endorsements as if his endorsements matter to Republican voters in Illinois who hate him right now. He’s going to have to do better than that and he needs to speak to Black Republicans first. Republican voters in Illinois think that Richard Irvin is a Democrat. He voted Democrat in the last 3 primaries. He ain’t even endorsed a Black Republican yet.

Richard Irvin needs a come to Jesus moment and needs to speak to Black Republicans like Darren Bailey is doing. The Black Republicans need a real champ not a chump! Neither candidate could win without the black republicans. The real Champ has stood up, and that’s Darren Bailey!
