OpEd: Hats Off to one of Chicago’s Finest Black Republican Leaders – Jimmy Lee Tillman II (Chicago, IL) – The Illinois Black GOP wants to shed light on one of our brightest stars, Jimmy Lee Tillman II. Mr. Tillman and his sister Ebony Tillman are the founders of the Martin Luther King Republicans. All of our Illinois Black GOP members are also MLK Republican members. We’re proud of the consistent action of Mr. Tillman in pushing the Republican agenda in Illinois and Chicago.
Mr. Tillman provides an invaluable place in the party for black Republicans in Illinois. His zeal for building networks and relationships has helped us connect to the RNC and Washington D.C. Black men in Chicago are heavily in favor of President Trump. About a third of black men in Chicago voted for Trump. Mr. Tillman is committed to being a bridge for the Illinois Black GOP to connect with the Trump campaign.
Having someone like Jimmy Lee Tillman help black people in Chicago stay informed provides consistent value. Mr. Tillman and the MLK Republicans continue to host events for our black Republicans in Illinois. We look forward to Mr. Tillman’s next event at Trump Towers on June 17th.
Educated Black Republican Leader
Tillman is an Academy Fellow with the Heritage Foundation and a Heritage Action for America Sentinel. He is active with the America First Policy Institute and Black Voices for Trump.
Tillman is also an author, historian, and Jimmy Lee Underground Radio Network producer. He founded the Martin Luther King Republicans in 2008, the most prominent black Republican organization in the Midwest, that has helped increase the number of Black voters and candidates by promoting Republican principles and deliberate outreach.
Mr. Tillman authored Tillman’s Handbook of Great Black American Patriots and guide to the National Parks and Landmarks, statues, museums, and historic places dedicated to them as an intelligent answer to CRT.
He is a graduate of Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, the son of world famous musician and educator Dr. Jimmy Tillman and former Chicago alderman and civil rights veteran Dorothy Wright Tillman. He is a father of three and Paw Paw of one.
Again, Hats off to Jimmy Lee Tillman and the MLK Republicans.
