NW Times Survey Taps Mike Del Galdo as Southland’s “Best Local Government Lawyer” (Berwyn, IL) – The North West Indiana Times 2024 survey of the south suburbs’ best professionals had attorney Mike Del Galdo, senior partner of the Berwyn-based Del Galdo Law Group, as first place finisher in the region’s “best lawyer” category.
The Munster-based publication noted that in 25 years Del Galdo’s firm has grown to 27 attorneys with a sprawling legal portfolio concentrating on municipal law, litigation, economic development, real estate and land use, high school, elementary school, and higher education school law, public finance, and labor and employment law.
“Beyond knowing the law, a good local government attorney must have the trust and confidence of all stakeholders in a community — from mayors and school boards to park districts and community colleges — to solve a problem,” said Del Galdo “You also have to have a broad and deep network of relationships — often outside the community — to help fix a client’s problem by knowing who to call to negotiate a solution. And that stuff is not taught in law school.”
Del Galdo is no stranger to prestigious recognition from his professional peers.
In January 2024, “Super Lawyers” magazine, which is part of Thomson Reuters, published its 2024 list of best Illinois lawyers and it tapped just eight Illinois attorneys as the state’s “super” local government lawyers, and for each of the last 10 years Del Galdo has been on that list. Additionally, since 2016, Del Galdo has also been selected nine times by his peers as one of Law Bulletin Media’s “Leading Lawyers”.
“Being recognized locally in The Times by the people who know me and my firm’s work best, is, however, an even more important distinction,” said Del Galdo. “In fact, I am humbled by The Time’s “Best Lawyer-Attorney” designation.”
