Monica Gordon Wins Election for Prairie State College District #515 Board of Trustees (Flossmoor, IL) – Flossmoor resident Monica Gordon has emerged victorious in her race for Prairie State College District #515 Board of Trustees.

With all 140 precincts reporting their results from Cook and Will Counties, Gordon was the leading vote-getter with 12,523 total votes over the second-place finisher Ronald J. White. Her vote total amounted to nearly 33% of all votes in a four-person contest.

Ms. Gordon reiterated that, “Community colleges are economic engines for the community. Opportunities in workforce development, STEM and technology are imperative to build a pipeline of students who will make a financial impact to the Southland economy.”

She is committed to addressing the digital divide across the Southland and create partnerships with feeder high schools to expose students to various career paths and diverse curriculums.”

Gordon thanked the voters of the Southland in Prairie State College #515 for their overwhelming support and said that she is eager to get to work. Ms. Gordon stated, “Now, more than ever, students need access to technology to thrive and succeed in an academic environment. We must provide all students with the appropriate technology tools. In addition, I want to help create partnerships with Southland high schools to expose students to various career paths and a collegiate curriculum.”

As she plans to develop an agenda around this vision in the coming weeks, Ms. Gordon thanked those who were instrumental in her campaign for their hard work and their support.
