Miller Lite to Grant 35 Scholarships to Hispanic Students Through Partnership With Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (Chicago, IL) — Miller Lite and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) are supporting the next generation of Hispanic leaders by providing 35 scholarships to eligible undergraduate students. As part of an almost 20-year partnership between Miller Lite and HACU, the scholarship also provides select recipients with career development opportunities through HACU’s ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute. Eligible Latinx students in the United States and Puerto Rico are invited to submit an application online through August 30, 2023.

Through the Miller Lite Brewed to be Bright scholarship program, funding has been allocated to support educational resources, leadership development and career prospects for students enrolled at HACU-member institutions. This collaboration with HACU, a nonprofit working to improve access to and the quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students, has enabled Miller Lite to award more than $1 million in scholarships to empower Latinx students pursuing higher education and career opportunities.

“Leveraging the power of diversity, equity and inclusion in leadership is an incredibly important principle within Molson Coors. Through our scholarships for Latinx students nationwide, we are actively championing this core value of supporting the Hispanic community,” said Lacey Golonka, manager of community affairs for Molson Coors. “Our longstanding partnership with HACU enables us to not only provide financial support to Hispanic communities but also unlock new avenues of education, leadership development, networking and professional growth. We are committed to fostering success in students and making a positive impact within the Hispanic community through these continued opportunities.”

Scholarships range between $2,500 and $5,000, for a total of more than $100,000 in scholarships, and will be awarded to Hispanic college students in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New York, Texas, Wisconsin and Puerto Rico. To be eligible for consideration, students must be at least 21 years of age, enrolled as full-time or part-time undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.5 or above, and studying at a HACU-member institution within a participating market. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or DACA recipients to be eligible for this opportunity.

Scholarship recipients will also secure a spot at the HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, an annual conference taking place in Chicago from Oct. 28-30, 2023. This three-day symposium serves as a platform for leadership development and networking for over 500 undergraduate
students. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in engaging presentations, workshops and luncheons, as well as connect with conference exhibitors and recruiters.

“HACU is pleased to continue our partnership with Miller Lite to offer Hispanic students expanded opportunities to enrich their educational and professional pursuits,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “We are committed to working together in creating a generation of leaders that will bring a fresh perspective and drive effective change in their communities.”
