LaVine Scores 30, but Bulls Fall to Celtics (Chicago, IL) – Zach LaVine had game high 30 points against the visiting Celtics, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulls lost 119-103 Monday night. Lauri Markkanen added 18 points and Thaddeus Young had a big night for Chicago off the bench nearly registering his first career triple double with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Other than LaVine and Markkanen, the starters didn’t provide Chicago much help on the night. The bench outscored the starters in the first half 27-23.

Boston was led by Jaylen Brown who scored 26 points. The Celtics got a balanced attack with four players scoring in double figures in the first half.

Tatum Returns

Jayson Tatum was back in the lineup after missing the last five games due to COVID-19 protocols. He scored 24 points and had five assists and four rebounds in his first game since January 8th.

Celtics Led 60-50 at the Half

Brown had a big third quarter scoring 14 points and the Celtics went up 91-76 entering the final period. The Bulls made a small run in the fourth but could never cut the lead to single digits. The eighteen turnovers and lack of scoring was just too much to overcome.

Chicago has now lost two in a row after winning three straight. They fall to 7-10 on the season.
