Illinois Had 6 Federal Bar Fellows. Now It’s 7. (Berwyn, IL) – There are less than 200 attorney fellows nationwide, including the nine Supreme Court Justices, who are honorary members of the Congressionally-charted Foundation of the Federal Bar Association. There were six in the State of Illinois.

Now a seventh Illinois attorney will join its rarified ranks.

Attorney Cynthia Grandfield, a partner at the Chicago office Del Galdo Law Group, LLC, will be inducted as a fellow in September 2023.

“Selection as a Fellow is recognition of a lawyer whose public and private career has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession,” stated the notice sent to Grandfield of her appointment by the Foundation of the Federal Bar Association, which was charted as a 501(c)(3) organization by Congress in 1954.

“A Foundation of the Federal Bar Association fellowship represents an extraordinary honor and opportunity,” said Grandfield. “The role of Association fellows is to promote the improvement of the administration of justice and the maintenance of the honor and dignity of the legal profession.”

The Fellows program was established in 2002 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and leadership within both the Federal Bar Association and the legal community. Attorneys must be invited to become a fellow and to be nominated.

Grandfield will be inducted during a ceremony at the Foundation of the Federal Bar Association’s Annual Meeting and Convention, September 21-21, 2023, in Memphis, TN.
