Fatburger Makes a Comeback to Orland Park with Star Studded Management Team (Orland Park, IL) — On a dreary, snowy March day more reminiscent of a Chicago January, Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express opened it’s doors in Orland Park with a crowded ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration. Lines wrapped through the restaurant with patrons sharing tables, making recommendations, and enjoying burgers, fries, and milkshakes.

Franchisee A.D.T.J. Development LLC, a company created by Chicago businesswomen Toi Salter and Jackie Johnson, is in partnership with professional basketball players Derrick Rose, Anthony Davis Jr., and Tim Hardaway to bring Los Angeles-style burgers to the Chicago area. The brand, Fatburger, was started over 70 years ago by African-America businesswoman Lovie Yancy.

“It’s just perfect,” said co-owner Toi Salter. “With March being Women’s History Month, and A.D.T.J. being an African-American owned company.

FAT (Fresh. Authentic. Tasty.) Brands Inc. oversees the operations of over a dozen restaurant brands, including Fatburger, Buffalo’s Express, Johnny Rocket’s, and many more.

This is not the first time Fatburger has come to Orland Park, but now, it’s here to stay. A previous Fatburger franchise was opened at the very same location over a decade ago by Chicago rapper Kanye West.

“It was all coincidence,” explained Salter. “When I went to corporate with my proposed location, they were surprised and told me that Kanye West had a Fatbburger in the very same location!” She said that since West’s location closed, the space housed another restaurant before A.D.T.J. took it over. “We completely remodeled everything. It’s all brand new.

A.D.T.J. will also be bringing additional franchise locations of Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express to Illinois in the future. Salter said that they are looking at locations on Chicago’s north side, south loop, and more.

“Chicago has been hungry for a Fatburger for some time, and we are excited to now be able to deliver our one-of-a-kind burger experience to locals,” said Jake Berchtold, COO of FAT Brands’ Fast Casual Division. “This opening is the just the start of our growth in the state, and it is particularly meaningful to have on-board such an experienced partner to lead our expansion, including such celebrated athletes as Anthony, Derrick and Tim.”

Burgers at Fatburger can be customized with just about every topping imaginable. Topping options include bacon, eggs, chili and onion rings. In addition to its famous burgers, the Fatburger menu also includes Fat and Skinny Fries, sweet potato fries, scratch-made onion rings, turkey burgers, hand-breaded crispy chicken sandwiches, vegan options, and hand-scooped milkshakes made from 100% real ice cream.

A perfect complement to Fatburger, Buffalo’s Express menu includes delicious bone-in and boneless chicken wings accompanied by a range of original and organic sauces. All of Buffalo’s Express’ wings are accompanied by celery, carrots, and blue cheese, ranch or honey mustard dressing.
