Dolton Mayoral Recall Referenda Remain On Ballot. (Dolton, IL (ECWd)) – During today’s Hearing, Cook County Judge Karkula issued an abeyance (stay) of his previously issued Emergency Temporary Restraining Order, which was initially issued Tuesday, May 17, 2022, to order the circuit clerk to not certify the referenda for the ballot.

Attorney for the Dolton Village Board objected, and Judge Karkula issued a “stay” of his previously issued TRO.

For now, both the Referendum for Recall of Mayoral Position of the Village of Dolton, and the Referendum to Recall Mayor Tiffany Henyard will remain on the ballot, subject to the outcome of the underlying court case filed by Mayor Henyard.

If Henyard prevails in her suit, the Court will order the votes to one or both of the referenda to not be counted since there is not enough time prior to the ballot printing to hear and try the case.
