Bulls Take a Tough Loss in Florida (Orlando, Florida) – After the Bulls’ very close loss to the Bucks, the Bulls traveled to Orlando to face the Magic. The Bulls tried to fire off 5 shots outside the arc and missed all of them because of the Magic’s strong defense. The Bulls defense struggled to patch up their holes near the rim and allowed the Magic to score many points in the 1st quarter. By the end of the 1st quarter, the Bulls had fallen behind, scoring 19 points while the Magic scored 23. In the 2nd quarter, the Bulls struggled to gain traction in the paint, hitting just 4 out of 11 of their shots inside the paint. The Bulls’ defense was struggling to figure out some of the Magic’s plays and allowed them to score an abundance of points. The Magic had really pulled away from the Bulls, scoring 30 points while holding the Bulls to just 18. By the end of half, the Bulls trailed the Magic 53 – 37.

At the Half

In the 3rd quarter, the Bulls managed to make up some ground. The Bulls shot no mid-range shots the entire quarter, and kept their shots to the paint and beyond the arc. The Bulls made 4 out of 9 three-point shots and many shots in the paint, but struggled to lay their defense on the Magic. The Bulls made some advance on the Magic, scoring 37 points while the Magic scored 32. Going into the final quarter, the Bulls trailed the Magic 85 – 74. In the 4th quarter, the Bulls couldn’t seem to find their rhythm with many hit or miss shots. They shot three points from beyond the arc, and missed them all. The shots the Bulls were pulling up with at the rim were also very inconsistent, with the Bulls making 50% of their shots in the paint. The Bulls did, however, find space for many successful mid-range jump shots. The Bulls were unable to cover the court and allowed the Magic to score 29 points while the Bulls scored 21. The Magic beat the Bulls 114 – 95.

Game Leaders were DeMar DeRozan, who scored 41 points, along with handing out 3 assists and nabbing 2 steals. Nikola Vucevic was able to snag 13 rebounds while Tyler Cook got a block. The Bulls made 43.4% of their collective shots and 23.8% of every 3-point shot.
