Bulls pull ahead just in time for the win (Brooklyn, New York) – The Chicago Bulls met the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center to a surprising 1st quarter. The Bulls made 4 out of 12 shots outside the arc and were fairly consistent at the rim. In the 1st quarter, the Bulls had great shots all around the court with DeMar DeRozan making a spin move on his defender then pulling up at the top of the key for the easy 2–pointer. The Bulls made 28 points while the Nets took the early lead with 34 points. In the 2nd quarter, the Bulls made 3 out of 7 shots outside the arc and were aggressive in the paint. The Bulls struggled in making consistent shots around the court like the they did in the 1st, however they were able to cover the Nets very well. Lonzo Ball covered James Harden and at one time, when Harden made his shot, it was tipped by Ball and fell short of the rim. The Bulls made up a little ground, scoring 24 points while the Nets scored 22 points. By the end of the 2nd, the Bulls trailed the Nets 56 – 52.

At the Half

In the 3rd quarter, the Bulls had aggression on the court but struggled focusing on their shots, only making 1 out of six 3–pointers. With the Bulls struggling from range, they started making their way to the rim where they had more success. The Bull’s defense was turned up when Derrick Jones Jr. stole a ball at the Bulls rim and quickly launched it across the court to Ayo Dosunmu for the behind-the-back layup. The Bulls made up a little ground in the 3rd quarter, scoring 27 points while the Nets scored 26. The Bulls continue to follow the Nets into the final quarter with the score at 82 – 79. In the final quarter, the Bulls saw variety throughout all their shots by making 2 out of 6 shots while also being consistent in and around the paint. Zach LaVine was at the top of the arc when he noticed a hole in his defenders to exploit, and made his move to the rim for the 2–step layup. The Bulls went on to score 32 points while the Nets scored 25 points. The Bulls beat the Nets 111 – 107.

Game Leaders

Game Leaders were Zach LaVine with 31 points along with Lonzo Ball, who handed out 7 assists. On the defensive side, Lonzo Ball was also able to snag 9 rebounds along with nabbing 2 steals, while Derrick Jones Jr. was able to get 4 blocks. The Bulls made 47.7% of their collective shots and 32.3% of every 3-point shot.
