Shanahan McGovern Leads House Race in new Poll (Chicago, IL) – October 4, 2024: Recent polling of likely voters would seat Christine Shanahan McGovern (R) in the Illinois Legislative District 36 if the General Election were held today. The poll, released by Stedfast Media, concluded in September*.

In Shanahan McGovern’s favor, the poll also identifies that nearly 13% are undecided in the previously historic Democratic district of the Southwest suburbs of Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, and adjoining Chicago neighborhoods. This is consistent with other data revealing grave discontent with past leadership, and indicating the community is ready for changes in policy.

District 36 is an open seat with no incumbent. Shanahan McGovern has invested much of her life, and most recently during her 2022 IL Senate 18th District race, (which covers House District 36) to engage the community through canvassing, and community activism. She raised her family in Mt. Greenwood, is a founder of “Back the Blue” in Chicago and “ReOpen IL”. She is a staunch public advocate for parent’s rights, against transsexual confusion, and hard-line that boys/girls crossing over in sports and locker rooms etc., are not debatable. Round out Christine’s own small business and substitute teacher credentials, she is a powerhouse on both economic and social issues.

“There is a lot of work to fix Springfield’s wrongs. It is time to stop the abuse of our values and freedoms. I will prioritize, Illinois Citizens First! I am crossing all boundaries to bring common sense, safety, and security back to Illinois families,” says Shanahan McGovern. “I am grateful that voters are aware that together we can make taxes, drug abuse, and crime go down, and education results go up by electing a voice who will be strong and courageous against the ‘Machine’. I am your person!” concluded McGovern.
