First Roseland HOPE Home to be Delivered (Chicago, IL) — The Hope Center Foundation announced that the first HOPE home will be delivered. The delivery of this first modular home is set to redefine affordable living and housing equity standards on the far Southside.

The transformative initiative, Reclaiming Communities, reflects Hope Center Foundation ‘s commitment to creating safe, sustainable, and livable urban environments that cater to the diverse needs of the community. In partnership with Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI) and United Power for Action & Justice, Hope Center is creating a pathway for economic opportunity, homeownership, and generational wealth for low-to-moderate-income residents of the Roseland community in Chicago. This project aims to remedy pervasive issues of violence and poverty by targeting residents and families with financial education and home ownership counseling.

With a commitment to excellence and a focus on meeting the evolving needs of the community, The Hope Center Foundation is taking significant strides to enhance generational wealth and wellness to reclaim, restore, and revitalize the spirit of HOPE in our community.

President and Founder, Rev. James T. Meeks said, “This initiative is an extension of the work I’ve been doing for the past four decades. We’re thrilled to receive the delivery of our first home in Roseland. Reclaiming Communities is a visionary urban development project that represents a significant step forward in our commitment to creating safe and sustainable environments that will enrich and empower the individuals who call this community home.  The Hope Center Foundation is dedicated to shaping urban environments that reflect our aspirations and the diversity of our communities.”

The Hope Center Foundation broke ground on the first home on September 2, 2023. The delivery of the KINEXX Modular home is a milestone development on our road to reclaiming the Roseland community.

“Planting the first Roseland HOPE Home marks a significant turning point for the generations to come in this community. While our community experienced major economic disinvestment in the 1970’s, Reclaiming Communities is an initiative we’re honored to be sphere-heading in Roseland at The Hope Center Foundation. This affordable housing project is a glimpse into the larger urban development project we’re organizing to restore hope in Roseland – to set up our residents with opportunities to be homeowners in equitable communities.  We’re grateful and excited for the delivery of our first modular home, as it’s a steppingstone in our life-long legacy of instilling a standard of excellence and expectation with all we hope for,” remarks Executive Director, Shenita Muse.

The Hope Center Foundation of Chicago is a lead organizer in the Roseland, Pullman, and West Pullman Community – with a proven track record in creating innovative solutions and imaginative programs to address cycles of poverty and violence in our community. Their mission is to be a Roseland-based community organization, committed to helping residents transition out of poverty to a livable wage, and onto generational wealth.  Community of HOPE exemplifies our dedication to shaping the futures of urban residents and urban environments.
