79th District Mayors Endorse Jackie Haas (Kankakee, IL) — State Representative Jackie Haas, running for her first re-election, announced her endorsement by 79th District Mayors and Village Presidents this week, scoring bipartisan upsets over her democratic opponent.
Haas announced the joint endorsements of Monee Mayor Dr. Therese Boggs, Herscher Village President Shannon Sweeney, Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Schore, Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis, and Hopkins Park Mayor Mark Hodge as well as Hopkins Park’s full Board of Trustees.
“Jackie Haas has shown herself to be a true and strong proponent for her constituents. She has served and advocated for her community, especially the underserved. Being a native of the area and having experience as CEO of a non-profit, she’s qualified in her ability to manage a business, while keeping the pulse of the community a top priority, said Dr. Therese Boggs, Mayor of Monee, in endorsing Haas’s re-election.
Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Schore agreed, “Representative Haas’ ability to lead and represent the 79th District in a confident, fair, and well-mannered way is a true asset. I have witnessed her tireless work over the past two years and she has my full endorsement.”
“On behalf of the Village of Herscher, I have reached out to Rep. Haas countless times regarding questions and concerns about state issues, which were always promptly addressed. Subsequently, Rep. Haas went out of her way to reach out to department heads in Springfield on our Village’s behalf,” said Shannon Sweeney, Village President of Herscher, in endorsing Haas’ for the Illinois House seat.
Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis went on to say, “In the two short years of representing her district, Jackie Haas has worked tirelessly for our area, including working with both sides of the aisle to bring natural gas service to Pembroke/ Hopkins Park area. I have no doubt that Jackie Haas will continue to fight for all of the 79th District.”
