Wizards Lose, 0-5 On The Season. (Washington D.C.). The Wizards hoped to avoid an 0-5 start to the season. They lost to the Bulls Tuesday night as Chicago registered their first win of the season. The Bulls now looked to build off that momentum and keep Washington winless.  The Wizards got off to a good start scoring forty plus points in the opening period, and had two players in double figures.  However, the Bulls also put up numbers scoring 35 in the quarter.

Wizards led 41-35 after one.

Chicago had another big quarter scoring 36 in the second as Washington’s defense had no answer for the Bulls.  Otto Porter Jr. and Daniel Gafford led Chicago with 13 points a piece in the half.  Washington’s big man Thomas Bryant had a big second quarter himself and led the Wizards with 22 points in the half.  Bulls led 71-68 at the half.

Wizards Had No Answer For Bulls

Russell Westbrook had another triple double.  Bradley Beal and Thomas Bryant both finished with 28 points and Rui Hachimura added 17, yet somehow they found a way to lose again.

Bulls win a close one 133-130

The Wizards kept it close, and were up 126-125 with under two to play after Bradley Beal sank a pair of free throws.  On the ensuing possession Zach Levine made an eighteen foot jumper to give the Bulls the lead at 127-126.  The Wizards would not go away though, as Russell Westbrook made a seventeen foot jumper to take the lead again with minute and seventeen seconds to play.  Somehow they still found a way to lose, succumbing to the Bulls in a close one 133-130.

Otto Porter Jr. was huge for Chicago tonight, stepping in for the injured Lauri Markkanen.  Porter Jr. had an efficient game as he went 10 of 14 from the floor scoring 28 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Zach Levine contributed 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists as the Bulls beat the Wizards for the second time in three days.  Chicago got everybody involved in this one, everyone who played scored, and 7 players scored in double figures.

Next Up:

Both team head north.  Chicago will travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks (2-3).

Washington travels to Minnesota and will play the Timberwolves (2-2) Friday night.
