White Sox take loss on the road against Tigers (Detroit, Michigan) – The Chicago White Sox came out swinging in the top of the 1st with Sox batter Jose Abreu, who hit an RBI single to put the first run on the score board.  Soon after, White Sox batter Leury Garcia grounded out but gave Abreu enough time to make it home.  In the bottom of the 1st White Sox pitcher, Dallas Keuchel, took the mound.  At the end of the 1st inning the score was 2-0 White Sox.  In the bottom of the 4th Tigers batter, Eric Haase, hit a ball that bounced right over the head of White Sox center fielder, Billy Hamilton, for an inside the park homerun.  Haase brought 2 Tigers home that carried the score to 3-2 Tigers at the end of the 4th inning.

A Close Game

In the top of the 5th, Abreu stepped up to the plate to hit another RBI single to tie the game.  Soon after Garcia hit a fastball for a two-run home run to left field.  The White Sox took the lead at 5-3 in the top of the 5th.  In the bottom of that inning Tigers batter, Jonathan Schoop, hit a two- run single right over Keuchel to tie the game at 5-5.  Next batter up was Tiger’s batter, Jeimer Candelario, who hit an RBI single that gave the Tigers the lead.  After that, White Sox pitcher, Ryan Burr, relieved Keuchel after throwing 79 pitches.  Burr threw 2 strikeouts then walked in a run that extended the Tigers lead to 7-5.  In the bottom of the 6th inning, White Sox pitcher, Jace Fly, replaced Burr at the mound.  In the bottom of the 7th, Haase hit a 3-run homer to right field that brought the score to 10-5 Tigers.  After Haase’s hit, White Sox pitcher Matt Foster replaced Fry at the mound to close out the inning.  In the bottom of the 8th, Scoop hit a home run to center field to bring in the last run of the game.  The 9th inning consisted of 2 strikeouts and a ground out that ended the game.  The Tigers beat the White Sox 11-5.
