White Sox take another tough loss in Toronto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) – After yesterday’s tough loss, White Sox decided to have White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn take the mound in the bottom of the 1st inning. In the top of the 2nd inning, White Sox batter Andrew Vaughn grounded into a double play that was picked up by the Blue Jays defense. In the bottom of the 3rd, Blue Jays batter Santiago Espinal successfully stole 2nd base. Luckily, Lynn escaped the inning with 2 groundouts. In the bottom of the 4th, Lynn threw a wild pitch to Blue Jays batter Cory Dickerson that advanced Blue Jays batter Teoscar Hernandez to second base. In the top of the 5th, White Sox batter Luis Robert was hit by a 92 mph fastball to walk to first base. In the top of the 6th inning, White Sox batter Andrew Vaughn grounded an RBI single to center field to cement the first run of the game. The White Sox took the lead with the score at 1-0 going into the bottom of the 6th.
A Tough Break
In the bottom of the 6th inning, Blue Jays batter Vladimir Guerrero retaliated with his own RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. In the top of the 7th inning, White Sox batter Jose Abreu grounded into a double play that sped up the game. In the bottom of the 8th, White Sox pitcher Craig Kimbrel replaced Lynn after 86 pitches. Kimbrel threw a wild pitch that inning that resulted in Blue Jays batter Breyvic Valera running in for another run. By the end of the 8th inning the Blue Jays took the lead over the White Sox with the score at 2-1. In the top of the 9th inning, White Sox batter Andrew Vaughn grounded out and White Sox batters Jack Lamb, and Zach Collins both were then struck out to close the game. The Blue Jays beat the White Sox 2-1.
