Welch Hosting Mass COVID-19 Vaccination Event (Springfield, IL) – State Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch is hosting a mass vaccination event with Walgreens on Friday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Proviso West High School to help West Suburban residents get their COVID-19 vaccinations. Residents must register for an appointment in advance; walk-ins cannot be accepted.

“Mass vaccination events like the one we are hosting on Friday give eligible residents the opportunity to make their appointments efficiently and get vaccinated safely,” Welch said. “We are so close to nearing the end of the pandemic and getting back to our normal lives, but we have to all pitch in and do our part to get us there. That means getting vaccinated and continuing precautions like wearing a face covering in public and practicing social distancing.”

Residents must make an appointment by Thursday, April 1 in order to attend and receive a vaccine. To register and schedule an appointment, residents should call the village in which they reside:

  • Bellwood: 708-547-3505
  • Maywood: 708-450-4492
  • Broadview: 708-681-3600 ext. 259
  • Hillside: 708-449-6450
  • Westchester: 708-345-0020

Residents can also register online.

“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe and highly effective, and will save the lives of thousands of Illinoisans,” Welch added. “If you are eligible to receive the vaccine, don’t hesitate to schedule your appointment and get vaccinated to protect yourself, your family and your community.”
