Veteran Attorney and Former Chicago Alderman Bob Fioretti Announces Run For Cook County Board President (Chicago, IL) – Citing the failures of Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle, her dangerous policies on crime, reckless spending, and out-of-control taxes on Cook County residents — former Chicago 2nd Ward Alderman, and veteran attorney, Robert “Bob” W. Fioretti, has formally announced his candidacy for Cook County Board President in the upcoming general election on November 8, 2022.
“Cook County and the City of Chicago are my home. I am running for Cook County Board President because I am tired of Chicago Political Machine politicians destroying our communities with dangerous, failed policies, reckless spending, over taxation, and flat-out incompetence.
Crime
Crime is on the rise throughout Cook County because of the failed, soft-on-crime policies of Toni Preckwinkle and State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. It is a fact that Toni Preckwinkle is the chief architect of these dangerous policies and serves as the political and personal mentor to Kim Foxx. Foxx served as Preckwinkle’s Chief of Staff prior to her failed reign as State’s Attorney.
County government spending is out of control. Our infrastructure is crumbling. Our taxes are higher than ever. Families and seniors are being taxed out of their homes due to some of the most burdensome property taxes in the United States and Preckwinkle and her political allies cannot even provide residents with their property tax bills on-time! Let me ask this, what are Cook County residents getting for all of the money paid in taxes in Cook County? It is time for residents to demand accountability and enact the change needed to fix the problems plaguing our county. We must elect leaders that put the interest of hardworking county residents, regardless of political affiliation, ahead of the special interests and Chicago Political Machine insiders.
It’s Been Too Long
For too long, the Toni Preckwinkle-style of self-serving, corrupt, ineffective leadership has failed our great county. It is time Cook County residents had a leader who will take an independent, responsible, effective approach to governance and the budgeting process. I will put Cook County residents, their safety, and their tax-dollars, first!
Cook County deserves far better than the failures of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.”
The general election for Cook County Board President will occur on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Sounds like a plan. Cook County is out of control on so many levels if government.
