The White Sox suffer another big loss against the Twins (Detroit, Michigan) – On today’s beautiful day at Target field, White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease took the mound to throw out the first pitch for the Sox and retired the side.  In the Bottom of the 2nd, Twins batter Max Kepler hit a two-run blast to deep right field that put the first runs on the scoreboard.  The score was 2-0 Twins at the end of the 2nd inning.  In the bottom of the 3rd inning Twins batter Trevor Larnach hit one of Cease’s curveballs for an RBI single that extended their lead over the White Sox. The 4th and 5th innings were filled with groundouts, lineouts, and flyouts with both teams displaying great defense.  In the top of the 6th, White Sox batter Jose Abreu crushed a ball to the 3rd deck of the stadium for a solo home run.  In the bottom of that inning, White Sox pitcher Jace Fry relieved Cease after 107 pitches.

Pitching Gone Cold

At the end of the 6th inning, the score was 6-1 Twins.  In the top of the 7th White Sox batter, Leury Garcia, hit a ground ball up the middle to drive to men home.  Up next to bat was White Sox batter, Yoan Moncada, who hit a ground ball just inside the foul line for an RBI triple.  In the bottom of the inning White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet took the mound for Fry.  The score was 6-5 Twins in the top of the 7th inning.  In the bottom of the 8th White Sox pitcher, Ryan Burr, stepped up to the plate and threw a fastball to Kepler, who crushed it to left field for a solo home run.  Andrelton Simmons had a sacrifice bunt which advanced the Twin’s runner from third base.  The score was 8-5 Twins at the end of the 8th inning.  In the top of the 9th, the Twins put the last nail in the coffin with a double play to end the game.  The Twins beat the White Sox 8-5.
