The White Sox beat the Indians in first game in Cleveland (Cleveland, Ohio) – After traveling to Ohio, the White Sox put White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn at the mound to throw out the first pitch.  In the top of the 1st inning, Indians player Franmil Reyes stepped up to the plate to hit a 2-run single that put the first runs on the board.  By the end of the 1st inning, the White Sox trailed the Indians 2-0.  In the bottom of the 2nd inning, White Sox batter Yoan Moncada crushed a ball to right center to close the gap on the Indians.  At the end of the 2nd inning, the Indians led the White Sox 2-1.  In the bottom of the 4th inning, White Sox batter Brain Goodwin struck an RBI single to tie the game at 2-2.  Next batter up was Leury Garcia, who grounded a force out with Andrew Vaughn making it home from 3rd base.  The White Sox took the lead over the Indians by the end of the 4th inning with the score at 3-2 White Sox.  In the 5th inning, Indians batter Jose Ramirez singled on a line drive to right field that kept the game close with the score tied again at 3-3.

A Fight for the Lead

In the bottom of the 5th inning, Andrew Vaughn walked in run that kept the White Sox in the lead.  In the top of the 6th inning, White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet relieved Lynn after 104 pitches.  In the top of the 7th inning, White Sox pitcher Aaron Bummer came in to take over for Crocket.  In the top of the 8th inning, White Sox pitcher Ryan Tepera took the mound for Bummer and immediately threw a slider to Reyes, who crushed it to left field for a solo home run to tie the game once again at 4-4.  In the bottom of the 8th, White Sox batter Tim Anderson hit an RBI single to right field that brought the White Sox back in the lead. Jose Abreu went up to the plate and took a 96 mph fastball to the head to be walked for another run.  White Sox pitcher Liam Hendriks took the mound to close out the game with 2 strikeouts and a pop out.  The White Sox beat the Indians 6-4 In the first game of the series in Cleveland.
