Two of the most vital projects coming to the 40th District in 2023 include the rehabilitation of pavements, including design overlay and ADA improvements in Kankakee County along route IL 115 North of Gar Creek to South Washington Avenue in Kankakee and preservation of pavements along Route IL 1 on Strieff Lane to 34th Street in South Chicago Heights.

Rush played a key role in securing $550 billion for climate policies, including $2.8 billion for electric vehicle infrastructure, $50 million to reduce air pollution near schools, $3 billion for environmental justice, $9 billion for lead pipe removal. Bill also includes Child Tax Credit extension, postpartum care, paid family and medical leave, $5 billion for community violence prevention.
