Southland’s Behavioral Health Founder, President & CEO Twin D. Green Receives Honorary Doctorate (Flossmoor, IL) – The Link & Option Center is proud to announce that their Founder, President, and CEO, Ms.  Twin D. Green, is being awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Rhema University, Florida for her work in the Community Mental Health field. Ms. Green started the agency in  1995 in response to struggles her teenage son was experiencing. The initial purpose was to  support the education of young minorities between the ages of fourteen and twenty-one in the  South Suburban Cook County area by helping them strengthen their academic skills, make the  transition to post-secondary education and define their career goals. Over the last 27 years, the  growing demands of the community led The Link & Option Center, Inc. to widen their scope and  transform into a comprehensive, community based behavioral healthcare organization, providing  an array of mental health prevention and recovery, addiction treatment and recovery, and human  services to adults, children and adolescents, and their families coping with emotional issues.

Ms. Green’s efforts have been previously recognized by the community which she serves. She  was recognized in 2009 by the National Association of Professional Women and in 2012 with  the Peggy A Montes Unsung Hero Award. On March 6th of this year, she received the  Chicagoland Top 20 Women of Excellence Award hosted by the Indian American Business  Coalition and The Global Eye Digital News Magazine as part of their International Women’s  Day Celebrations 2021. Their theme was Choose to Challenge: Women in Leadership. Most  recently, Dr. Vijay Prabhakar, Founder Chairman of the Multi Ethnic Advisory Task Force and  President of Citizen’s Action Alliance for Behavioral Health (CAABH), named Ms. Twin D.  Green Ambassador for Behavioral Health Chicago. She is also currently a doctoral candidate at  Walden University, seeking her PhD in Health Administration.
