Monica Gordon and Sisters of the Southland work with NDICA on expungement fair (Chicago) – NDICA will be hosting monthly job fairs, expungement clinics, and youth development programs in Illinois. See when and where you can meet our team and join the upcoming community events.

Here is a list of all forthcoming events organized by NDICA & its Community Partners:

● Free Expungement Clinic & Job Resource Fair alongside the Sisters of the Southland are
providing services including expungement resources, a social equity event, workforce
development, onsite employment recruiters, COVID-19 vaccinations, and free lunch. Prairie State College Board Member Monica Gordon, Clerk Nyota Figgs, Clerk Yumeka Brown and Andrea Bonds.

When: Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 12 PM to 4 PM

● Youth Technology Program – NextGen: STEAM Mentorship Program is focused on youth
development & education in the STEAM fields. STEAM fields are the areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. Enrollment open for ages 14 to 18. Students will initially meet with a Mentor to determine the student’s current knowledge is of STEAM, the student’s goals, and to access what the student needs to succeed in the program.

The STEAM Mentorship Program will be lead by Thurston Alex Daniels who holds degrees in
Finance, Information Technology, and Project Management.

Youth Arts Program – Youth Filmmaking Mentoring Program with Brian Hook launching in
partnership with Left of Bang Entertainment. Program participants are taught the basics of
independent filmmaking, from pre-production, production, and post-production. Every session will have a special guest “celebrity” mentor that will come online and speak with the participants. Left Bang Entertainment was founded by Brian Hooks who is an actor, producer, writer, director, and stand-up comedian with over 25+ years within the entertainment industry.
